The Flinders Ranges is a must do when visiting South Australia and it is why we built our Cabin Park where it is, we love looking out our windows and seeing the sun rise above the beautiful mountain ranges daily.
The ‘Ranges’ have much to offer, from driving tracks, walking tracks, hiking and biking, there is something for everyone in the family to come and see. It has been said seeing the Ranges is like seeing Mars with its dusty red roads which are boarded by cliffs and craters. Take an aerial tour of Kati Thanda–Lake Eyre or drive yourself along the Aboriginal Dreaming Trail if you really want the authentic experience our country has to offer.
The Flinders Ranges is South Australia’s largest mountain range 384 km north of Adelaide. Parts of the ranges are national parks. It stretches over 430 km from Port Pirie to Lake Callabonna. Its most characteristic landmark is Wilpena Pound, a large, sickle-shaped, natural amphitheatre covering nearly 80 square kilometres. It contains the range’s highest peak, St Mary Peak, at 1170 metres.
From our park you can head an hour down the road and find Wilpena Pound. At Wilpena Pound you can marvel and the large amphitheatre, which was created by erosion over millions of years. Wilpena Pound is surrounded by the beautiful ancient mountain ranges, creeks and amazing gorges, it is a must see!
There are endless sights to see in the Ranges and we highly recommend visiting. Our beautifully fitted out cabins offer all of the comfort you need to relax from a hard day’s driving or hike through the Flinders Ranges.
